A bit more about me

"No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader."

31 Noble nominations

My interest in fiction began when I was in the last year of my PhD. After long days working on my thesis, I needed a distraction. TV never suited me, so I started reading. And I began with Agatha Christie. One year later, I had not only my degree but almost sixty of Agatha Christie's books on my shelf.

Later on, writing technical articles for a magazine specialised in business, I wondered if I could use my knowledge in fiction to turn those cold articles about laws and market trends, statistics and regulations into something more enjoyable. The best of those attempts was using Ebenezer Scrooge’s cold and oppressive office as an example of a problematic workplace and the reasons for it. What a fun!

But it was not until January 2017, after watching “Pride, Prejudice and Zombies”, that I came across yet another world: the world of Pride and Prejudice Variations.

The sequence of events that followed had a natural way. I read hundreds of those books, decided what I liked and what I did not like and why, and realised the ones I enjoyed were few and far between.

The American writer and professor, Toni Morrison, said, "If there's a book you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it.”

With that advice in mind, I returned to university (almost twenty years after finishing my PhD) and got a degree in English and History – I even wrote one of my assignments about P&P variations. Check it here.

Now I write stories I love to read, filled with romance, adventure and a bit of historical context.

I hope you enjoy them.
